I echo your concern and complaint about larger outlets not supporting newer writers. I understand it perhaps, albeit mildly, increases competition for them?
But I don’t think it holds. They have access and experience that’s quite the differentiator.
I’m getting more media passes to things these days. If I get a chance to meet some, I’ll ask on this.
That would be a great thing to ask them. Because I’m not naming any specific names but many different big names in the industry echoed the concerns of the industry issues were impacting those up and coming writers but then never did anything about it really. Some of them allow guest posting in their blogs but it’s unclear whether that’s helping new writers or filling content.

You’ll only find some of the articles, most of my stuff was on their old medium site, not the current website.
